We spoke with the youth in Southern Israel this week.
On the same tour which has brought us to campuses and communities all over Israel, this week we were in Dimona, a city in southern Israel.
The talk was backed by the municipality. But, it was requested by the head Chabad rabbi, an old friend of mine, Rabbi Gelis. We actually learned in rabbinic school together way back.
His community has grown enormously. There are now schools, and programs to help the needy in the city. He and his family have established educational outreach programs and help everyone from the ill, to elderly, soldiers to simple families. He’s really gone a long way.
This talk was part of a current initiative they’ve got to strengthen their outreach to the youth. Following are some photos and a short video.
