Testing Yeshiva Students Tanya – Article

A yearly privilege and pleasure to discuss Tanya.

It’s a yearly privilege and pleasure for me to sit with the graduating class of the Kfar Chabad school, in Israel. My ostensible role is to summarize with them, their year’s end study of Tanya.

Annually, the school invites me to discuss their studies in this most critical subject. In fact, though, it’s always the same. The students know their material backwards and forwards, in and out. More than their technical knowledge, you can easily see that they identify with the material.

It’s really remarkable to see. It’s also very inspiring to watch young people grow, mature and develop into such amazing young adults.

Tanya is not considered an easy subject for anyone.  But, these are not typical young men. They’re excellent products of our extraordinary town, Kfar Chabad.

Of course, my job isn’t to lecture. every day, their entire lives. And, in the relatively short couple hour framework that we work in, there’s nothing you can do to completely encapsulate what their extraordinary teachers have accomplished.

My job, and goal is to make it interesting. Put differently, it’s to take the conceptual basis which they’ve been working on, and to translate that into real life experiences and emotions.

To do that, we introduce some photos, the Two Kings story and more. Naturally, I’m always excited to present the Two Kings children’s book series. And, expectedly most people know about it. After all, the Two Kings has been translated into three languages!

Here’s an article (sorry, it’s in Hebrew) which just appeared. For my English speaking readers… well…., enjoy the pictures.

By wishes to all. For more updates and things which I’ve got going on, feel free to check out my site. We have so many wonderful things going on, we do try to upload them periodically.  Rabbi Fishel Jacobs.
